The St. Johns Cultural Council has awarded this year’s recipients of the Fall 2022 State of the Arts (“SOTA”) Grants. The grants, presented annually, are available through funds raised by the sale of “State of the Arts” specialty license plates which have provided more than $140,000 of support to arts organizations and individual artists in St. Johns County, Florida.

Scope: Reroof Spanish tile on building mansard and upper to include:
Remove single layer of existing tile (store onsite for reinstallation), underlayment, drip eave, flashings, pipe boots and venting from area complete to expose roof decking

BACKGROUND AND OVERVIEW
The St. Johns Cultural Council and the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival have partnered to present a new concert series, Live from The Waterworks, celebrating the legendary recording artist Gamble Rogers, whose balladry and storytelling shaped American folk music. Events will be held on the third Saturday of each month from October through June.
The St. Johns Cultural Council will open its applications for the 2022 State of the Arts Grants on Thursday, September 1. The annual State of the Arts (SOTA) grant program will award up to five $1,000 grants and one $5,000 grant award.
The St. Johns Cultural Council is pleased to announce the youth and adult winners of the 2nd Annual Haiku Contest conducted during the month-long celebration of National Poetry Month in April. Contest categories included students ages 12 and younger; students ages 13 to 17 years of age, and adults ages 18 and older. The theme of this year’s contest was Spring and awards were presented at St. Augustine Poet Fest at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla. on April 9.
